Down to Earth was started by a group of friends in Maui in 1977 who wanted to provide health-focused options for Hawaii's residents and so they started a grocery store which featured the slogan, "healthy foods at prices that won't make you sick!"

Fast forward to today, Down to Earth has expanded to six locations across Hawaii, including their newest 13,000 square foot store in Honolulu's Kaka’ako district. As I strolled through the aisles, I couldn't help but appreciate how Hawaii-based Down to Earth is a local alternative to Whole Foods.
